FBI Manhunt Ends: Modesto Murder Suspect on the Run Since 2019 Finally Captured in Mexico!

“Modesto Murder Suspect on the Run Since 2019 Captured After Surrendering in Mexico, Now in Stanislaus County Custody”

A long-wanted Modesto homicide suspect, Sacaria Pereida, who allegedly fled the scene of a 2019 murder, has surrendered to authorities in Mexico and is now in custody in Stanislaus County, the FBI reports. Pereida, born in 2000, is accused of involvement in the fatal shooting of Robbie Hull, 20, on Lita Court near Crows Landing Road. An arrest warrant was issued in 2020, charging Pereida with murder, attempted murder, and assault with a firearm.

On April 14, 2019, Hull was shot and killed following a confrontation with the suspects. Two others, an 18-year-old man and a woman in her 40s, were also shot but survived. Pereida was previously linked to a 2018 shooting incident in east Modesto but was not charged as no one was hit by the gunfire.

FBI Special Agent Robert Simmons revealed that Pereida turned himself in to Mexican authorities last month, admitting there was a warrant for his arrest in Stanislaus County related to the homicide case. The FBI requested a federal warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, though such charges are typically dropped once suspects are returned to U.S. custody. Pereida is now back in the United States and held in Stanislaus County.
