Gunfire Outside Fresno Rap Video Shoot Hits Two Businesses
FRESNO, Calif. — October 26, 2026
A Fresno Tower District shooting early Sunday morning left two nearby businesses damaged after gunfire erupted outside a property being used to film a rap music video.
The shooting happened around 2:24 a.m. on October 25, 2026, near Fulton Street and Dennett Avenue, just south of the Tower Theatre.
According to the Fresno Police Department, several people were denied entry to the location before gunfire broke out.
Surveillance footage captured at least 10 rounds being fired. Fortunately, authorities reported no injuries.
The incident comes as Fresno officials introduce new safety measures following several violent incidents in the Tower District.
What Happened During the Fresno Shooting?
Fresno police received reports of gunfire near Fulton Street and Dennett Avenue early Sunday morning.
Investigators learned that someone had rented a nearby home through Airbnb to film a rap music video.
Police say several individuals attempted to enter the location but were turned away.
As those individuals left, authorities say they fired multiple gunshots before fleeing.
Officers who were already patrolling nearby heard the gunfire and responded.
Investigators discovered multiple shell casings along Dennett Avenue, west of Fulton Street.
Authorities are continuing to investigate exactly what led to the shooting and identify those involved.
Surveillance Video Captures at Least 10 Gunshots
Security footage obtained by ABC30 Action News shows two groups encountering each other outside a home on Dennett Avenue.
The video reportedly shows a verbal confrontation before someone pulls out a firearm and begins shooting.
At least 10 rounds can be heard or observed in the surveillance recording, according to the station.
Police also indicated that the incident appeared to involve an exchange of gunfire.
However, investigators have not publicly confirmed how many people fired weapons.
Authorities are reviewing available evidence as they work to establish the full sequence of events.
Two Tower District Businesses Damaged by Gunfire
Although nobody was reported injured, the shooting left nearby businesses dealing with property damage.
ABC30 reported that the owner of a nail studio along Dennett Avenue arrived Sunday morning and discovered a bullet hole in a wall.
The owner also reportedly found a bullet on the floor inside the business.
Another business around the corner on Fulton Street sustained damage. A window at that location was boarded up following the shooting.
The damage highlights how gunfire can threaten nearby workers, business owners, and residents, even when they are not involved in the confrontation.
Shooting Happens as Fresno Launches New Safety Measures
The shooting occurred during the first weekend of Fresno’s latest Tower District safety initiative.
City leaders recently approved a 90-day effort to improve public safety following several violent incidents in the neighborhood.
The strategy includes increased police presence, improved lighting, changes to passenger pickup and drop-off areas, and new arrangements for street vendors.
The measures followed an October 18 shooting near Olive Avenue and Broadway Street that injured two people.
Police arrested a 16-year-old suspect in connection with that earlier incident.
Authorities have not established a connection between the October 18 shooting and the October 25 gunfire.
In fact, Fresno police said a preliminary investigation indicated that the people involved in Sunday’s incident had no connection to nightlife activities along Olive Avenue.
Fresno Police Report More Shooting Incidents in 2026
According to figures released by the Fresno Police Department, the city has recorded 132 shooting incidents in 2026 as of the latest report.
At the same point in 2025, police had recorded 128 incidents.
That represents an increase of four reported shooting incidents citywide.
These figures cover Fresno as a whole and should not be interpreted as a count of shootings specifically within the Tower District.
The recent gunfire nevertheless adds to concerns about violence affecting the neighborhood.
Have Police Made Any Arrests?
As of October 26, 2026, authorities have not publicly confirmed an arrest connected to the shooting near Fulton Street and Dennett Avenue.
Police have not released the identities of the individuals believed to be responsible.
Investigators have also not established a publicly confirmed motive beyond the reported confrontation over entry to the location.
Detectives are continuing to investigate and review available evidence.
Anyone with information about the shooting can contact the Fresno Police Department at (559) 621-7000.
Investigation Remains Ongoing
The October 25 shooting left two businesses damaged but no reported injuries.
Investigators are working to identify the people involved and determine the full circumstances surrounding the gunfire.
Meanwhile, Fresno residents and business owners are watching how the city’s new safety measures affect the Tower District.
